This Zip file includes the following 4 files.
- Readme First.txt
- Whatsnew.txt
- prog.exe
- 1311L1.sum

Note :
Superstar 2 family of receivers include
- Superstar 2 card
- Smart Antenna Superstar 2
- Flexpak-SSII

Note :
These instructions assume that you know how to use the interface
software, Starview with the Superstar 2 receiver.

Note :
This firmware is only for the High memory (8mb) variant
of the Superstar 2. It is important to check if this
firmware can be loaded onto your Superstar 2 Receiver.

Check message 45 using Starview. If the "Boot Software Part
Number" is in the form "X.XXX-SSII" (X meaning any number),
the receiver will be compatible with this load of firmware.

If it says anything else, for example "169-614330-XXX", the
receiver will not be compatible with this firmware. IN THIS
CASE, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOAD IT as it will fail and will have
to be sent back to NovAtel for reprogramming.

Here are the instructions on how to load the receiver.

1. Using Star view first ensure that the receiver is in 9600
   Binary mode.

2. Close Starview and any other programs that may be using the
comport that the Superstar 2 receiver is connected to.
   Leave the receiver powered on.

3. Extract the contents of this zip file into a directory.

4. Open a DOS prompt in that directory.

5. Type in the following command at the DOS Prompt

	prog 1311L1.sum 1 0 9600 19200

prog <FILENAME> <PORT> <PROTOCOL> <SYNC> <PROGRAMMING>

- If you are connected on a different comport, specify it here.
This example assumes you are connected to com1 on the computer.
- The sync rate can be left at 9600.
- The programming rate can be changed to a faster rate of up to 115200.
- For extended lengths of cable, use 38400 baud or slower.

6. If the programming session fails, try it again. The program
will indicate if the programming was not successful.

7. Cycle power on the receiver.

8. Establish communication with the receiver using Starview (File/port | Autoconnect)
Select the comport on the PC that the receiver is connected to.

9. Once the baud rate is found, click on Tool Setting | Clear NVM. Enter 00
for the NVM element and click OK. Wait approximately 10 seconds and
then cycle power on the receiver.

Below is a capture of a successful programming session using the prog_ex.
The "waiting for handshaking" part is almost be instantaneous. If more than
5 "dots" occur press escape and restart the prog command.
